Army organises ex-servicemen rally at Nimmo

The ex-servicemen rally saw a participation of around 135 veterans and 4 veer naris which was organised by Parashu Brigade at Nimmo Garrison under the aegis of the Fire & Fury Corps on April 22 in Nimmo.

The rally participants hailed from Nimmo, Basgo, Ney, Likir, Alchi and Chilling village.

Brigadier Gagandeep Singh, Commando 118, Parashu Brigade said, “It is very important for us to look after our Ex-serviceman as they are very much a part of us. Even though they have relinquished their service but their heart beats for the country”. 

He further added, “The most important part is that when we join the war, our ex-serviceman are the ones who are going to wear the uniforms again and they be available to us shoulder to shoulder and assist us in razing the wars. In Ladakh, we have Pakistan on the west and China on the east and we need numbers, we have ex-serviceman who are trained soldiers and can contribute in a big way in wedging wars and assist us in our operations. So we cannot lose the sight of our ex-serviceman, they are brothers and our endeavour is always to be in touch with them and look after their interest”. 

“Moreover, we are enabling them to achieve all the schemes and the beneficiaries of all the government policies and welfare measures. We are a coordinating agency to help them achieve their objectives and avail the benefits. We have ex-serviceman cell, where we assist them in the best way".

He assured the veterans and war widows that they will always remain inseparable members of the armed forces fraternity. 

Several stalls from various welfare agencies and organizations of the Army and civil administration were set up at the venue. The medical team equipped with modern equipment and medicines was also in place.
