Anjuman Imamia Leh organized a daylong seminar on present Educational problems and solutions

Education Committee of Anjuman Imamia Leh organized a daylong seminar on the Present Educational problems and solutions in basic and higher education to students on 17 May at Imam Bargah Chuchot Yokma Leh.

The session was divided into two penal discussions wherein teachers, lecturers, retired teachers and scholars threw light on the problems that students face in basic as well as higher education.

The programme began with the recitation of holy Quran by Zahoor Hussain, followed by Naat-e-sharief by Zahid Ali Akhon Shey.

Advocate Muzaffar Hussain Barcha, President Anjuman Imamia Youth Wing Leh raised the issue of importance of education. He said that teachers can play a vital role in the overall development of the student. “Now is the time to payback the education and knowledge that we have learnt. He raised certain issues like changing behavior of students, importance of awareness camps to teachers and parents regarding the proper handling of students, dropout rates in school, what needs to be done to overcome these challenges”, he added.

Syed Naqi Shah Razvi, Chairman Imamia Mission School Chuchot emphasized that even after having well education, still many youth are unemployed. Therefore it is necessary that apart from just studies, we must stress on the overall growth of the students. He added, “Quality education is not only about having a good job and earning a good salary but it is about how the students contributes in the society that makes him a good human being.  Parents must keep a check on their children when they go outside Leh for higher education”. He also requested the parents not to overburden their children with their high expectation. Parents must let the child choose their own subject of interest. He stressed on providing religious education along with modern education.


      Ashraf Ali Barcha, President Anjuman Imamia Leh while addressing the gathering said that ultimate aim of education is to acquire knowledge in every field. He stressed on spending quality time with the children and try to understand their grievances to find possible solutions. “When parents send money to their children, they must assess where the money is being spent. It is important to spend quality time with the children and learn about their problems.

In the morning session the panelists included Ghulam Mohd Chow, Retired Head Master; Fida Hussain Khan, Retired District Youth and Sports Officer; Sheikh Mohd Raza, teacher IMS; Kaniz Fatima, Senior Lecturer; Fatima Bano, Master; Kaneez Fatima, teacher and Mohd Javed, Sarpanch.

In the afternoon session the panelists were Sheikh Javed Zubdavi, Historian and Scholar; Syed Zahid Razvi, Vice Principal Imamia Mission School Chuchot; Alhaj Zain ul-Abidin, Retired Principal; Nissa Khatoon, Lecturer; Manzoor Hussain Khan, Master; Zulfikar Ali, KAS; Irshad Ali, student Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) Mumbai and Mirza Mehdi, Lecturer.

All the panels and Audiences actively participated in the panel discussion by putting up questions and also suggested ways to overcome them.

At the end vote of thanks was presented by Haji Fida Hussain. The programme was anchored by Zaira Bano and panel discussion was hosted by Hajira Bano Balkhang.
