500 young aspirants join Mega Job Fair in Leh 104 youth registered in hospitality and aviation sector

A one day ‘Mega Job Fair’ under the National Career Services Mission Mode Project of Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India was organised by District Employment and Counseling Centre, LAHDC on March 23 at Indoor Stadium Leh.

Moses Kunzang, Additional Deputy Commissioner Leh was the chief guest of the occasion. He urged the youths to take valuable information from such programs. He said, “We are here to guide you all not only in the government services but also for the self-employment where a person can give the job to others and become a successful entrepreneur.”

He informed that the Hill Council has signed a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding)with Emporium Consultancy to provide training for personality development and grooming sessions for the students interested in aviation and hospitality sectors.

In Jammu two batches have been already started out of which one has already completed the course. The training will start in Leh which will be free of cost.
Moses Kunzang urged the students to register themselves for the training and take advantage.

Talking about the new projects, he said that Leh has an advantage of Pashmina,Sea buckthorn,apricot and soon we are going to start in floriculture wherein we will work on growing Mushroom and medicinal plants. Likewise, we will work on the unique projects and we have geared up the departments to help and work.

“Student should not waste time thinking what to do next. One should be ambitious and set a target as there is no limitation, so be very inquisitive, ask questions and interact with the experts. Follow your passion and our duty is to facilitate and we will give our full devotion to make it a success”, he added.

A total of 500 young aspirants were present at the event out of which 104 candidates got themselves registered for various job in hospitality and aviation sector. The candidates will be interviewed at District Employment &Counseling Centre Leh by the HR team of Spice Jet Airlines and Hotel Oberoi Mumbai on April 5.

Career Assistance was also catered by various successful entrepreneurs to the participants wherein they shared their experiences. Thinles Chorol, Founder Ladakhi Women Travel Company who was recently awarded Nari Shakti award briefed about career in tourism, Karma Whiting, Emporium consultancy spoke about the career in Aviation and Hospitality, Tsewang Dorjey, Managing Director, Julley Tiles on Entrepreneurship, Dorjey Wangchuk, Executive Manager, JKEDI on Self Employment schemes of JKEDI and Major Bhosale Vishwas, Ladakh Scouts on Career in Indian Army.

Briefing about organising the mega event, Mohammad Taki, In-charge Deputy Director Employment Leh said that the main aim is to bring job seekers, employers and skill providers under one roof to make an interactive session. 

Various government departments and banks showcased the self-employment schemes being offered by them.
