200 students attend winter tuition in Sumoor

The 40 days winter tuition was concluded on 10th February at Samgon Chamtse Thosam School Samstanling Gonpa, Sumoor Nubra.
 
It was organized by Samgon Chamtse Thosam School in collaboration with Samstan Otsal Tsogspa, Cultural & Welfare Society, Sumoor and Village Education Committee Sumoor  including Tigger, Pinchimik, Chamshen, Youlkham villages. 

During the tuition basic Computer Course, all subjects from 1 to 10th classes were provided to the students. Apart from that on every Saturday various programmes like poem reciting, dancing, singing talent, cricket, volley ball matches, debates and discussion were conducted. 

About 200 students including the monks’ students of various schools of Siachen Belt from village Tirith to Yarma attend the coaching. Fifteen teachers were engaged during the tuition.

The final test was conducted on 8 February for all the students and prize were distributed at the closing ceremony.  On the closing ceremony Stanzin Delik Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Sumoor and Geshes Thultim, Principal, Samgon Chamtse Thosam School Samstanling Gonpa were the chief guest. Students present colourful cultural programmes on the ocassion.

Tsering Namgail, President of Samstan Otsal Tsogspa, Sumoor, Nubra expressed gratitude to the Lt. Col. Aditya Jamwal, Officer Commanding, Khalsar for providing free ration for tuition.

He also expressed gratitude to Rigzin Lundup, Councillor, Tigger Constituency, Stanzin Delik, Sarpanch Sumoor, Geshes Thultim Principal of the Samgon Chamtse Thosam School for providing the school for tuition.  
He is looking forward to organize such tuition in years to come.
