120 students participate in one-day talent hunt

A one-day talent hunt was organised on July 1, by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with Government Degree College, Kargil.

Around 120 students who are in the field of music, visual arts and creative writing, music, painting, debate and essay writing took part in the event. 

Arun Gupta, Additional SP Kargil was the chief guest on the occasion Barkat Ali Lone Nizami, Assistant Commissioner Development Kargil, and Khadim Hussain, Assistant Regional Transport Officer Leh and State Awardee in Singing were the guests of honor.

Arun Gupta appreciated the Cultural Academy Kargil for providing a platform to explore and showcase the hidden talents of the students. 

Nazir Hussain, Special Officer for Cultural Activities said that apart from promotion and preservation of the local cultural heritage, Cultural Academy Kargil is also putting every possible effort to inspire and invoke the children of different age groups to explore and enhance their creativity.

The speakers on the occasion underlined the need to hold similar programmes at other educational institutions across the district.

They said that such programmes should encourage a maximum number of youngsters of the district to showcase their inherent capabilities. 

Certificates and prizes were distributed among the winners in different categories.
