Younger generation can play a big role in bringing positive change for a better world says, His Holi

Students and teachers of various schools of Leh got blessings from His Holiness Dalai Lama on his visit to the Ladakh Public School on July 8 in Leh.
 
Addressing the students, His Holiness Dalai Lama said that he has been visiting Ladakh since 1960’s and has been witnessing a lot of change in terms of education and development. In the past, due to lack of education there were less development and with time it is changing. Education is something which helps to develop the society.
 
His Holiness said, “The generation of my age is nearing to end, but the younger generation has great opportunities to bring positive change in the society as well as in the world. You have the responsibility to bring change in building a peaceful world for a happy humanity.”

“Today, even a single weapon like bomb can destroy the world in a minute and due to human activities, global warming is increasing day by day causing damage to the environment.  The younger generation of today can play a big role in resolving all these problem of world.”

Noney P Wangchuk, Founder, Ladakh Public School, Leh welcomed His Holiness and briefed about the school and said that the school was started with  35 students in kindergarten with only three classroom and one office. Now, the school has four blocks each on an average of 8 classrooms, and providing quality education. This year the school has started incorporating Tibetan language, dialectics and debate.”

“The school takes pride by giving 100% result in mathematics from many years. In 2012, CBSE, Delhi honored Principal P.C. Belwal as the Best Teacher,” he added.
 
The students from different schools and staff also attended the day.
