Theatrix Himalay in collaboration with NSD held one month theatre workshop

With the initiative and support of ‘National School of Drama (NSD)’, Theatrix Himalay Society Camp Director Sonam Stobgais and Programme Coordinator Jigmet Angchuk organised  one month training to many children from in and across Leh on theatre and artists from 28 September to 28 October 2013 at Thongsal Guest House.

On its concluding day on 28th Oct, an event was organised at Central Institute for Buddhist Studies Choglamsar where DC/CEO LEH Simrandeep Singh was the Chief Guest and other dignitaries included Morup Namgial and Mepham Otsal. Students of CIBS and many others were also present.

The participants presented two plays namely Khwaab and Shobha Yatra.

In this one month the children were sensitised and provided training classes on acting and theatre by various experts from Leh and members of NSD like Mepham Otsal, Morup Namgial, Founder Director SECMOL Tsering Angchok, Muzammil, Jhilmil, Rakesh, and Abhilash from NSD.  

“Inorder to boom the theatre industry, Theatrix Himalay Society started training and workshops for artists from Leh since 2006. When I came back to Ladakh after pursuing my degree from NSD, I realised the lack of proper training and workshop for artists, so decided to start training for artists” said, Sonam Stobgias.

At the end of the event the participants were awarded certificates by DC Leh.
