Druk Padma Karpo celebrates the 14th Founders day

With great zest and zeal, Druk Padma Karpo celebrated its 14th Founders Day on 24th September at Shey. The evening was warmed up by dance, music and sharing of school success story and experiences.
 
The event was graced with Chairman ,His Eminence Kyabje Thuksey Rinpoche, His Eminence Kyabje Togden Rinpoche, the chief guest Tsering Dorje Lakrook, Minister of Co-operative Ladakh Affairs,J&K Government., Member of Parliament-Thupstan Chhewang, MLA-Nawang Rigzin Jora, CEC-Rigzin Spalbar, Venerable Sanghasena  and many other guest and dignitaries were present on the occasion .
 
The chief guest of the night, Tsering Dorjey Lakrook congratulated the Druk Padma family on the founding day. He expressed the happiness and proud to hear the new relationship between the Druk Padma Karpo and the schools of New Delhi. This relationship will help to get the high standard level of education and exposure to the students of far flung areas of Ladakh. He said, “as dreamt and vision by His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa, to make the school an  international level school, I feel the day is not far if the school runs under the chairmanship of  His Eminence Thuksey Rinpoche  along with the well qualified teachers and  dedicated staff.”
 
His Eminence Thuksey Rinpoche said,” since education is the most important thing, I worked as a chairman of the school for past two years , giving my best to impart  the quality education  to the student studying in this school. He felt immense pleasure to see the school excelling in every field with the help of the students, teachers, staffs and the supporters. He said, the collaboration with the schools of Delhi will help the students interchange program with the two schools.
 
Speaking on the occasion, the school principal-Stanzin Kunzang expressed the happiness and joy to be the part of School and shared the story of the school. She announced the tie up of Druk Padma Karpo with the two big schools of Delhi, Blue bell International School and the Sanskriti New Delhi.  She talked about the team spirit and the blessing of His Holiness to take the school among the top schools in J&K and one of the good school in India.  She shared the development of school in terms of academics, sports, music and different other field.
The evening was light up by the presentation of cultural programs by school children and teachers. 
 
On behalf of Parent, Representative Disket Dolma, expressed the privileged and pride to see the student studying in this school.  She said not only in academics, the students are given exposure to extracurricular activities and the exposure tour organized to student of class 10th. She thanked the staff and the caretakers of hostel student to make them comfortable and homely feelings.
 
The annual school magazine “The Word of the Dragon “was also released on the same day.  For Live to Rescue project an amount of 60,000, collected by the student was donated to the Stray Dog Shelter, and a Maruti van by Druk Auto zone.
 
The event called off by illuminating the whole place by lighting up of lamps and candles.
