Music, painting competition and workshop on research in Ladakh held in Kargil

A workshop on Research in Ladakh, Painting and Musical talent for  the young folks was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Kargil.
It was Zanskar sub-divisional Level Childrens’ On Spot Music & Painting Competition under the age group between 16 plus and 21 years of age.

‘Workshop on Research in Ladakh’ was organised in collaboration with International Association for Ladakh Studies (IALS) at J&K Tourism Department, Tourist Dak-Bungalow, Meeting Hall, Padum, Zanskar.

More than 90 students from Govt Degree College Padum Zanskar, Govt. Higher secondary schools of Padum, Lamdon Model High School Padum, Govt. High School Phey and adjoining area School students participated in the competition & workshop.
 
In amateur’s group Painting competition Jigmet Kunphel of Lamdon Modern High School, Padum secured the first prize, while as Stanzin Nima of Govt Higher Secondary School, Padum secured the 2nd prize and Padma Angdus of Lamdon Model High School Padum, secured the 3rd prize.

Similarly, in amateurs group Music competition Stanzin Namgyal of Govt Higher Secondary School, Padum, secured the first prize, while as Tsewang Gurmat of Govt High School, Phay Zanskar secured the second prize and Stanzin Sangdup of Govt Higher Secondary School, Padum secured the 3rd prize.

Dr. Sonam Wangchuk, President IALS, Prof. Tashi Dawa, Professor, Govt. Degree College Leh, Dr. Konchok Paldan, Assistant Professor, Govt. Degree College, Nubra, and Nazir Hussain, Deputy Secretary/SOCA-G1 shares their ideas among the participant's students.

Tsering Angdus, Executive Councilor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil-Ladakh was the Chief Guest, while as Principal Govt Higher Secondary School, Shakar Jigmet Wangdus was Guest of Honor on the occasion. 

Later in the programme, on behalf of the Academy cash prizes and certificates of merit were distributed among the award-winning students.
