Book on Dard Shin community released in Kargil

A book on the history of the origin, migration and settlement of the Dard Shin Community , entitled “Jammu Kashmir Mae Abaad Shin Dard Quam ki Mukhtasar Tareekh” written by famous poet, writer, Scholar and author Raza Amjad Budgami was released in a grand function at Academy Hall Baroo Kargil on 07 June. 

The book is first of its kind about Dard Shin community. The event was organised by J&K Dard Shin Development Committee.

On this occasion Executive Councillor for Rural Development and Health LAHDC Kargil Haji Mohammad Shafi was the Chief Guest, Secretary J&K Red Cross Society, Chairman Dard Shin Development Committee J&K and famous Sheen poet Abdul Jabbar Chaket was the Guest of Honour.

Programme Head AIR Kargil Nissar Naseem and famous scholar Mohammad Shafi Sagar during the book release revealed that the book not only describes the migration, settlement etc but also explains about the various diversions in the whole Dard Shin community of J&K.

Abdul Jabbar Chaket said that Raza Amjad Budgami will be the face of Dard Shin community and wished that he will strive hard in the future to uplift the whole Dard shin community.

Haji Mohamad Shafi while appreciating the commendable work and efforts of Raza Amjad Budgami said that the young scholars and poets should work for the improvement and upliftment of the Dard Shin Language, culture and identity.

Talking on this occasion Raza Amjad Budgmi said that he was encouraged to write on this topic by the former Chairman of Dard Shin Development Committee Late Haji Abdul Aziz Samoon during his visit to Drass some years back.

He further added that from that day he never looked back and started the mission during which many scholars and prominent personalities of Dard Shin Community came forward with their suggestions and advices as result of which the book is today released.

Later a state level Shina mushaira was also held at Academy Hall Baroo organized by J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages Kargil wherein more than 20 prominent poets of Dard Shin Community from all over J&K participated.
